This Season’s Invitation
We’re caught in a way of life that is at odds with the natural world
We all feel the dance of the Earth, Moon and Sun in our body/mind, but many of us don’t realize it because we’ve been taught not to. The Overculture has robbed us of place and belonging. Acknowledging our relationships with the rest of creation threatens the reductionist and hierarchical worldview that is upheld by western civilisation. Yet this lack of acknowledgment does not change the fundamental reality that we are a manifestation of the living Earth and what happens to Her happens to us.
It’s possible to live as humans in ways that are more whole
In this free introductory teaching I’ll share a framework for these natural shifts of the Earth and cosmos and the effects that influence us on the deepest levels of our being. The wisdom keepers of the Celtic, Germanic, and Nordic ways have held this perspective for us so that we may find our way back to ourselves and have solid, well-crafted ways to meet the inevitable ups and downs of life. We all have wise elders that we can come into relationship with and well ancestors who can help us belong to ourselves–once we know how to connect with them.
We can renew these connections.
In this class we’ll explore:
How connecting with the Earth-honoring traditions of our blood-lineage ancestors supports our healing and growth
What some of these specific practices and perspectives are so that we can begin to balance out the trauma of unwell ancestors by connecting with the gifts of our well ancestors
How our western upbringing has had a harmful impact on our ability to be grounded in our body and in Right Relationship with our environment
Why being attuned to the rise and fall of the seasonal shifts guides us to deeper fulfillment and increased capacity to meet life’s challenges
Belonging to Place
This session is an introductory teaching that touches on themes that will be explored much deeper in the upcoming course, Belonging to Place–Skills for Blood-Line Healing, which begins on September 22, 2023.
Belonging to Place is a 10 week live call series focused on a framework for safely and respectfully engaging with the Ancestral Elders of our blood lineage for guidance, to heal intergenerational trauma, and to cultivate the skills necessary to grow good long-term relationships with our ancestors and the land so that we develop the inner spiritual foundation to live the fullest expression of our unique selves.
Harvest Season and the Ancestors
If you’re interested in cultivating a sense of belonging, connecting with the land, and connecting with your well ancestors, the place to begin is with this brief introduction to harvest season and the ancestors. Together we’ll be looking at the energies of autumn and what this time of year brings to the surface: gratitude, grief and belonging.
Our time together will include:
45 minutes teaching
15 minutes practice to embody
Live Q&A where you’ll have the opportunity to interact with Ro in real time
About the Teacher
Ro Marlen
Deeply rooted in the European Wise Woman tradition
Ro Marlen is a medicine woman and wisdom teacher who has been helping people recover from illness and create healing, stability, and vitality in their lives since 1997. She has studied with respected healers and teachers from around the world and spent a lifetime immersed in the rich tapestry of global cosmologies but her primary focus is on the wisdom handed down by her European ancestors. Her own healing journey has taken her from the miracles of spontaneous healing to the long and sometimes grueling process of recovering from trauma and mysterious illness. She’s particularly adept at teaching the concepts of how healing happens because everything she shares is grounded in direct experience.
Here to guide the ones who have a foot in both worlds
Ro's mission revolves around championing a world that values the beauty of a deliber ate, intimately connected existence—one that thrives in slowness and embraces the power of the small. She is here to support those highly-sensitive, spiritually-attuned individuals who don’t fit into our fast-paced, extractive, power-by-domination culture and aspire to be of service and bring change. Ro is dedicated to guiding them through the crossroads of earth-honoring spirituality and culture-shaping to create a balanced threshold where profound transformation happens–for the individual and the world around them.
