Full Moon in Leo
Our ancestors followed the energies of the seasons and marked the shifts and climaxes at the New and Full Moons. Though following the solar calendar, Imbolc is set to be celebrated on February 1 & 2nd; today’s Full Moon in Leo that occurs at 8:53am ET is Lunar Imbolc.
The Fire Ceremonies of Imbolc, when all the evergreens brought in to decorate the home are piled high and burnt, cleansing and blessing the Land, marks the official end of the Yule season- and the beginning of Dreaming season
In today’s Attune to the Moon message, I share with you the following:
The energy of the Dreaming Season and the Maiden face of the Goddess
The invitation of February’s Full Moon in Leo- we track the momentum of the Soul Star Seeds awakened in the 12 Nights of Winter to support your embodiment and Becoming.
Dreaming is creation.
The Goddess in her Crone form enters her sacred waters, where her water wheel turns. She steps out of these waters, rejuvenated and restored to her Maiden form.
Cross-culturally, our Indigenous ancestors marked the movement of Earth in her dance with the Sun and Moon. The Quarter days mark the shifts of seasons, and the Cross quarter days mark the climax of seasonal energy.
In our most ancient memories and stories, we remember Earth as our Mother- the Great Goddess, and we, with Celtic, Germanic, Nordic, and Slavic ancestry, recognize three faces of our Earth Mother. One face greets the rising sun, one meets the setting sun, and one faces the dark of night and the moon.
She has many names and, over the millennia, has developed many more forms and faces.
Today I share with you a name held by our Celtic ancestors- the face of the Goddess who greets the rising sun- Brigid. Three times in the year, the three-faced Goddess enters her sacred waters and comes out transformed into her next form following the cycles and seasons of the year.
The halfway point between Winter Solstice and the Vernal Equinox is the beginning of February, and at this time, having entered in the form of the Crone- Brigid emerges from the Sacred Well in the Underworld transformed into her Maiden form and begins to wander the Land with the seeds & unborn souls in her belly. The Gaelic word for “in the mother’s belly” is Imbolc and names this time. In other regions it is the “feast day of the Maiden” and celebrates Brigid’s return.
Brigid is the light bringer, the embodiment of the Sacred Heart Flame. She sparks the germination of all seeds and ignites our inspiration.
She is the Goddess of Learning and, with her flame, inspires the keepers of words, stories & songs as they are her beloved tenders & spreaders of knowledge, awareness, and innovation.
She watches over the sacred waters and blesses those who seek them out. She tends the healing herbs and guides the touch of midwives.
She arrives at the time when the New Moon in Aquarius and the Full Moon in Leo are enticing the pure spirit of our Hearts to reveal its longing - so it may guide us through our next cycle of seasons.
Brigid’s flame is the fire that burns in the hearth of the center of our Heart.
It ignites our Heart’s Vision for our lives and that vision gets cultivated and sorted in our dreams.
Imbolc marks the time of dreaming that lasts until the emergence of growth at Spring Equinox when Earth’s exhale begins. The dreaming time follows the Deep Sleep phase of Winter- from the Solstice until now - when Earth’s water energy could rejuvenate us as we rest. Now we are in the REM sleep phase When Earth’s breath is still paused and our Living Spirit of curiosity, growth, clarity, direction, and decisiveness begins stirring.
This Living Spirit is forming the vision of the next cycle of seasons following our Heart’s leadership. In these next weeks, our Soul’s longing is cooking in the cauldron of the Heart that hangs in the hearth that Brigid’s fire warms. This cooking, simmering, is our dreaming now.
Dreaming is allowing our Souls longing to emerge in the vision of our Living Spirit. It is the Living Spirit’s curiosity and clarity that can know the next right step to take.
Both of these spirits are held in the earth nest inside of us that is made of all our relationships, which holds the container for Spirit to emerge with a new vision each year.
The Goddess ignites the Dream of our Heart
Allow Brigid’s Sacred Heart Flame to ignite the longing and vision of your Soul and Dream yours and our Destiny into Becoming.

Full Moon in Leo births your Heart’s Desire
On August 4th, 2024, the Soul Star Seed (an aspect of your Soul) that holds your Heart’s Desire was sparked into germination at the New Moon in Leo. This Soul Star Seed was awakened on the 8th night of the 12 Nights of Winter 2023/24.
This Full Moon births your Heart’s Desire, the longing growing in you over the last six months, into expression. It also shines its light on frozen emotional energy, strategies, and behaviors that prevent you from expressing and fulfilling your Heart’s Desire.
Over a year ago, the Star Seed being born into expression today was awakened. On August 4th, 2024, in the darkness of the New Moon, the Sun sparked this Soul Star Seed’s germination, and it has been growing in you these last six months.
This week, I invite you to revisit your journal from the 12 Nights of Winter 2023/24 and reflect on the dreams, images, and messages you received and recorded on the eighth night.
This Full Moon in Leo is when your Heart’s Desire for this year begins to unfold.
Our biggest challenge is to not become identified with the strategies and behaviors we developed in childhood to get our fundamental needs met.
You are NOT your survival strategies. There is a real self and a false self, and it is your job to figure out which is which. Once you do this, you align with your soul’s purpose, and your life becomes an expression of Divine Will.
I invite you to wonder…
How did the message I received on the eighth night show itself in August of last year?
What old strategy or behavior of my false self have I been engaging in recently? What has habitually arisen that needs to be seen and compassionately held this week?
What is wanting to be acknowledged and celebrated this week?
Even if you did not participate in my program, the 12 Nights of Winter, or perform your own 12 Nights rituals last winter, I still invite you to ponder the wonderings above on this Full Moon.

Practical Tips to Lean into WinterSpring…
Active rest is just as important as passive rest. Slow strolls through the park or neighborhood while actively exploring your environment with your senses help your systems settle for deep rest when bedtime arrives.
Dreaming takes energy and needs the dark and quiet. No sleep- no dreams.
Stretching and yawning helps our bodymind to de-stress.
